Streetwires is an artist-collective, employing approximately 60 previously unskilled craftsmen in the vibrant field of bead and wire craft-art. The creativity which has been developed through training and mentorship has resulted in many of our craftsmen becoming masters in their field – producing large sculptures, welded pieces and beautiful installations, many of which have been bought by international collectors.
Anything and everything! The flora and fauna around us, our beautiful game-animals, politicians, international trends – from Madiba to the Ferrari, we are passionate about it all!
Every time a new item is made by happy hands, and is snatched up by a buyer (and yes, we have won quite a few awards…! Patrick Schofield, Social Entrepreneur 2008, Momentum Life and Top Billing Lifestyle Entrepreneur Award 2007, CCDI Craft Icon 2005, Exporter of the Year 2007). Our proudest achievement is in having provided employment and raised the benchmark in craft for the past 9 years.
