I have design and copywriting qualifications from Boston Media House, The Red & Yellow School of Advertising as well as from Hirt & Carter’s Training School.I have worked as an in house designer as well as senior designer in an advertising agency in Cape Town.
Constantly noticing creative design, be it in newspapers, signs on the street, websites or even those flyers people hand out at the side of the road – I love being a sponge. Another thing that inspires me is listening to people talk about their passions.
I view each of my projects as an achievement but these are a few that stand out in my mind:
For the past 4 years I have been in charge of producing the Under African Skies magazine. This is a 60 – 68 page magazine in which I design all the ads, the layout for each page as well as the cover. A real challenge but one I enjoy.
I have designed and laid out the past 2 editions of The A-Z of Factory Shops in the Western Cape. A 300 page book that I design the ads and layout for each page. Another mammoth task but extremely satisfying.
I have also been in charge of designing the Cape Town Wedding Festival for the past 4 years. From designing the street-pole posters and 30 page directory to recording the 30” radio spot and producing 10 000 flyers. It’s a great job and one I look forward to each year.
Hmm, I think all of my clients are my “Top Clients”.
I look forward to designing more and more material for start-up businesses and watching their business flourish.
I’m a Capetownian through and through. I love the fact that no matter where you turn there is something beautiful to enjoy.
From the beach to the mountains to the forests to the city life. How could anyone not love this town?!
